Lassing Park – St Pete Top 5 Waterfront Park System
Published on 01/29/21: Did you know that “…with 137 parks and 7 miles of preserved downtown waterfront, St. Pete boasts the THIRD largest urban waterfront park system in North America”? Love it, but now which waterfront park to visit? Last night, Colt and I chose to throw the frisbee at Lassing Park, just south of downtown. As you might imagine from the locale (Colt circled in 2nd pic), 80% of our time was a hands-on marine biology class.
I should add, Colt’s instructor/dad isn’t exactly ‘qualified’ in Marine Biology. So as a Realtor, we discussed the various homes the creatures use for refuge.
What’s your favorite park to visit around the Tampa Bay Area? Lassing Park is one of the ones close to downtown St Pete that we love. We’re all very lucky to live here in paradise! Plus, the moonrise last night was incredible. Watching it “lift out of the ocean”, as Colt said.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
