Highland Recreation Complex in Largo – Playground and more.

Published on 02/05/21: With construction of Largo’s new ‘futuristic’ playground now complete at the Highland Recreation Complex, we had to check it out!

First, Colt and I weren’t familiar with the Highland Recreation Complex. With this in mind, we were both very surprised to see water slides, an aquatic center and a three-story indoor playground as we pulled in!? This certainly is a comprehensive facility/park, offering summer camps and more. They evidently host VPK and after school care as well. Colt was ready to sign the dotted line!

We regained focus and meandered to the new outdoor playground. Colt had a blast ‘playing in the spaceships’ and being a ‘gymnast’ on the various rope and balance areas. There’s one area for ages 2-5 and another for 5-12. Colt focused primarily on the older side, though wanted to mention there are smaller slides and equipment for younger ones!

The playground is a very unique design that seems to hit the nail on the head for the kids! If you have children or grandkids, add it to your list!
