Published on 10/19/20: The Hangar Restaurant! This is one of our son’s favorite places to eat in downtown St. Pete and it’s easy to see why. The restaurant is practically on the runway of Albert Whitted, helicopters and planes come and go while you dine. We saw at least 7 yesterday. Plus, kids receive a balsa wood plane when they sit down and there’s all kinds of cool aviator gear inside!
Tip 1: Grab a table on the outdoor patio for the best view of planes/helicopters.
Tip 2: The ‘Hangar Burger’ with caramelized onion-bacon jam and melted Brie is delicious!
Tip 3: At the date of this posting, happy hour is from 3-6pm with 1/2 price wine bottles on Tuesdays. Burgers are only $6 on Wednesdays!

An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
