400 Beach Seafood & Tap House

Published on 01/31/21: So…boating to brunch wasn’t exactly something we did growing up on the avocado farm. I mean there were plenty of perks with lots of tree climbing, acres of land for ATC riding (the 3 wheel “super dangerous” kind), driving tractors everyday, however those perks didn’t include boating to 400 Beach for brunch. [queue an eye roll from my dad].

Here in St Pete, many homes are on canal systems or directly on the bay, giving the ability to boat 15- 20 minutes to downtown. After arriving at the municipal boat slips or the slips on the St Pete Pier, the next decision is where to brunch.

Today we chose the patio at 400 Beach Seafood & Tap House overlooking the North Straub Park area. Very much enjoyed delicious Shrimp & Grits, Crab Benedict, Avocado Toast w/ Salmon, plus they offer $4 Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas, and Screwdrivers.

400 Beach is known for great food, though we were still surprised the kids “fish sticks” for $7. These aren’t Morton’s. These are actual fillets of delicious fish and the same portion we’ve seen in some adult ‘Fish & Chips’ baskets elsewhere. Picture doesn’t do it justice as there’s another filet below the top one. Note the special Valentine’s Day menu in pics!

Whether driving or boating, what are some of your favorite brunch places? Would love to add some to our list. The picture of dolphins are from our ride back, so many playing together! Spotting dolphin is a frequent occurrence around Tampa Bay and even an activity we do to pass time.
