You’ll be within just 1/2 mile of the Vinoy Renaissance hotel, a landmark hotel downtown on the water. Old Northeast claims around 3,000 historic buildings, plenty of sidewalks, and is walking distance to the Tampa Bay waterfront! If you are on the perimeter of Old NE, you may have excellent water views, however most homes are interior.
A popular activity for those in the Old Northeast is to walk to beautiful Coffee Pot Bayou to watch the boats, sunrise, manatees, and dolphins. Many use this area to exercise, after all, the time passes quickly while taking in the sights and sounds. With many joggers, walkers, and rollerbladers out and about, Coffee Pot Bayou personally reminds me of a very small version of the lakefront in Chicago during the spring/summer. Maybe it’s just the activity level, but it’s such a great place to enjoy the outdoors! You’ll see boats, sailboats, and if you simply walk 100 or so yards you’ll find open views of Tampa Bay!
